A prominent collector of Swedish numismatics, Robertson served as Assistant Curator and photographer for the ANS for much of the 1930s. For much of the 1920s, Howland Wood had sole responsibility for the Society's growing numismatic collection. That changed in August of 1927, when he hired Robert Robertson as his assistant.
